On June 5, 2008, representatives of Ecobulcar AD held a meeting with officials of the Bulgarian Union of Automobile Importers - BMW Group Bulgaria, Moto Pfohe, Toyota, Porsche BG, General Motors, Balkan Star and Volkswagen to discuss ELV recycling in Bulgaria. The participants included experts from the environmental departments of the manufacturers' headquarters. The aim of the meeting was to show how Ecobulcar AD, as an ELV recycling partnership organization accomplishes the legislative objectives and the commitments undertaken towards its members.

The participants visited for this purpose one of Makmetal Holding's Sofia bases which is part of the network of 24 bases operated by Makmetal nation wide. They got acquainted with the process of collection, temporary storage and dismantling of used cars, and were demonstrated the capacity of the existing technology and equipment.

The discussion touched upon Makmetal Holding's investments in the upgrading and expansion of its operative bases and technologies, as well as upon the legal frameworks of recycling in Bulgaria and the problems ensuing for business and recycling organizations etc.

Initatives of this kind are useful to recycling organizations, as well as to car importers and dealers. The policy of open business relationships has always been conducive to confidence building and better results.
